A wet basement is one of those problems that just doesn't go away on its own. Sealing a crack from the inside or throwing down a sump pump might buy you some time, but it doesn't fix what's actually happening outside - water is getting to your foundation wall, and until you address that, you're just managing the symptom.
That's exactly why we approach these jobs from the outside. It starts with full excavation down to the footing. We're running CAT equipment right alongside the house, digging out the soil so we can actually see what we're working with - the bare foundation wall, exposed and ready for proper treatment. No guessing. No shortcuts.
Once we're down there, the real work begins. Waterproofing membrane goes on the foundation walls. Rigid insulation board gets installed to protect the membrane and add a thermal barrier. Drainage pipe gets laid in a bed of clean stone at the footing level so water has a clear path away from the structure. And where needed, we're also handling underground utility work so nothing gets overlooked while we're already excavated. It's a lot of moving parts, and that's exactly why it takes a crew that knows what they're doing.
The egress window installation is part of this scope too. Getting a precast concrete egress unit crane-lifted into place is not a small detail - it's a serious piece of equipment being set with precision. That unit gets set correctly the first time, tied into the drainage system, and sealed properly before any backfill happens. Every layer of this job has a purpose.
When it's all done, the yard gets graded back out and seeded with straw cover laid down to protect it. The house looks clean. The foundation is protected. And the homeowner isn't wondering every time it rains whether water is finding its way back in. That's what doing it right actually looks like.
