Here's what we were working with - a sloped, uneven rural property that needed serious grading work before any building could even start. The goal was to get this site ready for both a barn build and a retaining wall. That means getting the grade right from the jump, not just pushing dirt around and calling it a day.
Good site prep is one of those things that doesn't get enough credit. When it's done right, everything that comes after it is easier - the concrete work, the framing, the retaining wall installation. When it's done wrong, you're fighting problems for the life of the structure. We take that seriously.
We cut back into the hillside to establish a clean, level pad and shaped the surrounding grade to set up proper drainage and a solid base for the retaining wall. The gravel pad section ties it all together, giving crews a stable, workable surface to move forward with the next phase of the build.
This kind of work is what our foundation site prep and excavation services are built around. Whether it's a barn, a garage, or any other outbuilding - the prep work is where the project either starts strong or starts behind. We make sure it starts strong.
Every site has its own challenges. Rolling terrain, tree lines, existing structures nearby - it all factors in. We work through those details so the build crew shows up to a site that's actually ready for them.
